3 Proverbs to Get You Through the Week
Proverbs is my favorite chapter of the Holy Bible. I frequently find myself wandering back through the verses to fuel my spirit. You find gems through the lines that will build treasures of wisdom. These three scriptures in particular led to my spiritual growth. Hopefully, they resonate with you and can fuel your spiritual growth, too.
1. "Fools will die because they refuse to listen; they will be destroyed because they do not care. But those who listen to me will live in safety and be at peace, without fear of injury.” (Proverbs 1:32-33)
Let’s break this down. The Lord speaks to us through symbols. He conveys messages uniquely for every person. Those who choose to ignore his signs often face feelings of uncertainty and anxiety. When we put our trust in Him, we regain our security. This keeps us safe and protected against any circumstance whether physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual. Listen for His voice and watch for the signs.
2. "Listen carefully to wisdom; set your mind on understanding. Cry out for wisdom, and beg for understanding." (Proverbs 2:2-3)
Don’t worry if you are experiencing difficulty deciphering His voice and messages. This is a common part of the journey. Ask for understanding and wisdom through prayer. Wisdom does not come over night, however, it does come over time. Your relationship with God will take time to develop. As the communication increases, it will become easier to pick up on the messages through everyday life.
3. "A lazy person will end up poor, but a hard worker will become rich." (Proverbs 10:4)
This is a powerful verse. Poor and rich stand for more than financial status alone. Think more about the definitions of the words. Poor means lower quality than the usual or norm. Rich stands for plentiful or abundant. In life, we all desire riches in various areas. This means we must put forth consistent effort to obtain riches in said areas. For example, I personally felt I could not find peace of mind or spirit although it was all I desired. After I realized my actions did not reflect my desires, I made a conscious effort to change the negative energy that I put out habitually and unintentionally. My peace flourished with time due to my dedication. If you feel you are missing something in life, do not give up. A lazy person will end up poor. This means a person who does not put forth consistent effort will remain in a lower quality of life, or in their desired area.
Every day presents new challenges and new obstacles to overcome. Use these scriptures to motivate yourself or others. These are not the only powerful verses, though. I encourage exploring Proverbs in the Holy Bible. I guarantee that you will find the seeds needed to grow your wisdom and motivation to keep you going the entire week.
